Mayors for Peace has decided to offer to youth and future leaders from its member cities around the world opportunities to experience a stay in the A-bombed city of Hiroshima and interact with one another; enhance the training of personnel to assist in the abolition of nuclear weapons and the creation of lasting world peace; and strengthen our member city network through promoting exchange.
This year, we will conduct a program to provide financial and other support to selected youth from member cities who would like to participate in the “International Youth Conference for Peace in the Future, 2019 Hiroshima.” This is a conference hosted by the Hiroshima Municipal Board of Education with an aim to invite young participants from various cities in the world to deepen mutual understanding through staying together and to exchange views on how to contribute to the establishment of everlasting world peace.

We request each member city to widely advertise this program in their city with the Application Guidelines, select one applicant if you receive multiple applications, and submit required documents by email.
The Executive Committee of the conference and the Mayors for Peace Secretariat will select the participants and notify their member cities of the results at the end of May 2019.
Number of Support Recipients: 6 in total
Maximum Number of Applicants per Member City: 1 only per city. If a member city receives multiple applications, they shall select one applicant from them.
Application Deadline: Thursday, April 25th, 2019, by 3pm in Japan Standard Time (UTC+9)
