Virtual Participation in the 2026 Peace Ceremonies with Spanish Simultaneous Interpretation
Fundación Sadako invites people in Argentina and other Spanish-speaking countries to participate online in the 2026 peace ceremonies of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
In 2026, Fundación Sadako will once again connect Japan with communities across Latin America, Spain, and other regions through Zoom. Participants will watch the official live broadcasts from Hiroshima and Nagasaki with simultaneous interpretation into Spanish, together with some explanations of the ceremonies and their cultural significance.
The atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima at 8:15 a.m. on August 6, 1945, and on Nagasaki at 11:02 a.m. on August 9, 1945. At those exact times, participants will hold a paper crane, remember the victims, and pray together for peace throughout the world.
Hiroshima Peace Memorial Ceremony

This initiative began in 2020 and has brought together participants from Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, Peru, Bolivia, Guatemala, Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, Spain, the United States, Japan, and other countries and regions.
After each ceremony, participants may remain online to meet one another and share a brief dialogue about peace. By making friends and strengthening relationships across national, cultural, and linguistic boundaries, we believe that we can move one step closer to peace.
