International Mail Art Contest: WOMAN AND/IS PEACE

Deadline: May 16, 2016 [Mirano, Italy]

There is a standing invitation to send works to the International Mail Art Contest: WOMAN AND/IS PEACE until May 16, 2016. The event will culminate in the exhibition of accepted works during the City Peace Festival organized by the Sonja Slavik Peace and Legality Centre, which will be held in Mirano on Sunday, May 29, 2016, at the Piazza Errera. This art contest is held in collaboration with the associations ARCAM, EMERGENCY, and BANDERA FLORIDA.

The theme of this Mail Art Contest is “Woman” versus any violence, perpetrated against herself and against others, throughout all wars. A reflection on recent years of ferocious fighting is mandatory, because we must never repeat tragedies such as the First and Second World War, the dropping of nuclear weapons on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and exoduses and suffering caused by current wars.
