As part of our initiatives to nurture future leaders for peace, Mayors for Peace conducts a program that invites youth from member cities to Hiroshima. This initiative allows participants to learn about the experiences and aspirations of A-bomb survivors and engage in meaningful exchange.

In 2025, we invited eight youth representatives from Mayors for Peace Executive Cities to participate in the “International Youth Conference for Peace in the Future, 2025 Hiroshima,” which brought together 49 young people from Hiroshima and its sister/friendship cities. During the city presentation session, these eight representatives shared their own cities’ peace initiatives. They also took part in various exchange programs, deepening their understanding of the reality of the atomic bombing and fostering connections with peers from around the world.
