Invitation for applicants to the Children’s Art Competition “Peaceful Town” 2019

Mayors for Peace puts emphasis on peace education to raise awareness among younger generations as one of its intensified efforts in the Action Plan from 2017 to 2020, which was adopted at the 9th General Conference.

In order to further promote peace education in its over 7,700 member cities in 163 countries and regions around the world, Mayors for Peace has decided to hold a children’s art competition on the theme of “Peaceful Towns,” as it did last year, targeted at children in all these cities.

  •   Please submit to the city hall of the member city where the applicant lives

  • 3 Submission Deadline
  •   September 20 (Fri.), 2019 November 11 (Mon.), 2019

  •   Please email the application materials with submission form to the Secretariat

  • 3 Deadline for submission to the Mayors for Peace Secretariat
  •   5:00PM, September 30 (Mon.), 2019 (Japan Standard Time)
  •   5:00PM, November 20 (Wed.), 2019 (Japan Standard Time)

  • 4 Maximum number of applicants
  •   5 applicants each for Category I (6 to 10 years old) and Category II (11 to 15 years old) per member city
  •    *If more than the maximum number are received, the member city is expected to screen applications to select 5 artworks for each category.
