A. Summary
In light of the outcome of this past May’s NPT Review Conference, lively discussions were held on how to realize everlasting peace and the abolition of nuclear weapons by 2020. Around 300 participants consisting of Mayors for Peace member cities, intellectuals, peace NGOs, and government officials looked at how to abolish nuclear weapons at the earliest possible date, and the importance of forming coalitions between countries, cities, NGOs and citizens’ groups.
