The municipality of Zelzate in Belgium has been committed to peace and tolerance for years. In 2025, this was expressed in various initiatives.
Every year, the Mayors for Peace flag is displayed at the town hall. The peace flag flies there year-round to remind everyone that war is raging in Europe. This year, the mayor and aldermen also commissioned a banner and hung it at the town hall to emphasize that we, as a municipality, stand in solidarity with all victims of war and violence, everywhere in the world.
Zelzate stands in solidarity with the victims of conflicts worldwide.
