Prof. N. Lokendra Singh, Vice Chair of Manipur University, served as the Chief Guest for the event. Prof. Dilipkumar Singh, Head of the Department of Physics, presided as the President, while Prof. S. Imoba Singh (Dean, School of Humanities) and Prof. Sumitra Phanjoubam (Dean, Mathematics and Physical Sciences) attended as Guests of Honour.
Ph. Nandakumar Sharma, a faculty member from the Department of Foreign Languages (Japanese), read the message from Mayors for Peace and the Peace Declaration. Prof. Nimai delivered a talk on the effects of nuclear weapons, both pre- and post-detonation.
The event also included a screening of the documentary Hiroshima: A Mother’s Prayer.
