In response to the UN Secretary-General’s call for a global ceasefire, the European Chapter of Mayors for Peace issued a statement to support it on May 6, an excerpt of which is as follows: “It is time to put also armed conflict on lockdown and focus together on promoting international cooperation, solidarity, diplomacy and global leadership. Instead of fighting each other, people all over the world must now join together to overcome coronavirus.”
Let us all stand now for peace, human rights and an end to violence in all its many forms.
