One of the first actions generated by the first edition of the Mayor’s Summit “Unity in Diversity” has been a cooperation agreement with the city of Tunis, to support the country in its process of democratic evolution after the revolution that took place in 2011. Between the many actions stated in the agreement the City of Florence and Mayor Dario Nardella decided to launch the cooperation programme with a concert by The Orchestra del “Maggio Musicale Fiorentino” directed by Maestro Fabrizio Maria Carminati at the International Symphonic Music Festival at El Jem in Tunisia. The event, held in the name of peace and mutual understanding between countries, had the aim to support arts and Culture development as a tool of economic and social growth in the frame of a Cooperation Agreement focused to promote the cultural cooperation between the two cities and encourage again the tourism in a country threatened by terrorism.
