The United Nations has established September 21 as the International Day of Peace (IDP), which is dedicated to world peace, specifically 24 hours of non-violence and cease-fire.
Mayors for Peace supports the cause of the International Day of Peace. To convey Hiroshima’s wish for peace and encourage people around the world to reflect on it, we have created a video “Voices for Peace” featuring messages from groups involved in peace activities in Hiroshima, and we have disseminated it worldwide.
