Mayors for Peace Internship FY2023

Mayors for Peace implemented the Mayors for Peace Internship for overseas member cities for two weeks, from January 17 to January 31, 2024. Two officials from the City of Granollers, a Vice President City of Mayors for Peace as well as the Lead City of the Catalan chapter, and the City of Wellington, which is an Executive City of Mayors for Peace and the Lead City of New Zealand, participated in it.

1 The period of the program
From January 17 (Wed.) to January 31 (Wed.), 2024

2 Contents of the program
・Engage in the duties of the Mayors for Peace Secretariat (including post of information on social media and collection of signatures calling for all states to sign the TPNW as soon as possible)
・Learn about the realities of the atomic bombings (including visit to the Peace Memorial Museum, hibakusha testimony and participation in Atomic Bomb Memoir Readings)
・Learn about initiatives to promote peace (including the outline of Mayors for Peace and the outline of Hiroshima City’s peace initiatives)
