Event Commemorating 2022 International Day of Peace Held

September 21, 2022 [Hiroshima]

The United Nations has established September 21 as the International Day of Peace (IDP), calling for an annual day of non-violence and cease-fire. In support of this declaration, an event to commemorate the IDP was held in Hiroshima. To pray for the abolition of nuclear weapons and everlasting world peace, the participants observed a minute of silence putting up the Mayors for Peace banner that reads “Join us on a path of peace towards a world free of nuclear weapons!” and ringing the Peace Bell.
