In November 2024, the Mayor of Marcos Paz, Ricardo Curutchet welcomed mayors from Mercedes，Merlo，Escobar, Luján，General，Las Heras，Pilar，Suipacha，Navarro，and Moreno in the First Electoral Section of the Province of Buenos Aires. Together, they visited the Humanity Promenade and planted a ginkgo biloba tree recognized for having survived the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, as a symbol of Hope and Peace.
Later, at the House of Diplomacy, Mayor Curuthchet invited them to sign a Letter of Intent expressing their willingness to join Mayors for Peace, of which the City of Marcos Paz has been a member since 2021.
