From June 27 to 29, 2025, the Municipalities of Cahors and Saint-Cirq-Lapopie hosted the inaugural edition of “Cahors Mundi, Festival for Peace”, commemorating 75 years since the creation of the World Route Without Borders No. 1. Organized by the City of Cahors in partnership with the Cahors Mundi Association, this multidisciplinary festival offered three days of meetings, debates, performances, exhibitions, and film screenings in an open and engaging atmosphere.

Mayor Jean-Luc Marx highlighted Cahors’ long-standing commitment to peace, linking the event to the upcoming reopening of the Resistance Museum at the Grand Palais. Vincent Bedou, President of Cahors Mundi, and Boris Pétric, programming manager, emphasized the festival’s goal to foster reflection on the future and establish a biennial tradition.

Highlights included the unveiling of the “Charter of Globalization” plaque, exhibitions like Louis Nespoulous’ Poissons d’ici, and numerous debates on peace routes, migration, ecology, and global citizenship. Artistic performances and film screenings enriched the program, while lively DJ sets closed Saturday’s festivities.

The festival concluded in Saint-Cirq-Lapopie with intimate exhibitions, theatrical debates, and the immersive workshop “The Chamber of Utopia,” inviting participants to share dreams and hopes for a better world.

Cahors Mundi successfully breathed new life into peace culture, creative resistance, and community engagement.
