Chairman of the Hiroshima Peace Culture Foundation delivers lectures at Kyoto University of Foreign Studies and Kyoto Junior College of Foreign Studies
On Wednesday, June 10, 2009, Mr. Steve Leeper, Chairman of the Hiroshima Peace Culture Foundation, visited Kyoto University of Foreign Studies and Kyoto Junior College of Foreign Studies and delivered two lectures entitled "Graduating to a Peace Culture" in front of students from both institutions including foreign students studying there.
Mr. Leeper explained "What is peace"and "What is Peace Culture" in an easy-to-understand manner, as well as how people can graduate from a war culture to a peace culture. He also stressed that Japan has a key role to establish a peaceful world as the only atomic-bombed country and the significance of citizens' grassroots activities including petition drives.
