Hiroshima Field Trip, DePaul University
Eighteen students from DePaul University, USA, visited Hiroshima on a field trip as a part of the Hiroshima-Nagasaki Peace Study Course from Friday, November 30 to Saturday, December 8, 2007. This field trip was conducted as the second Short-Term Study Abroad Program: Kyoto, Hiroshima, Nagasaki 2007 offered by DePaul University following the first program in June 2005. The students visited Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Kyoto and Osaka and learned about Japanese culture and peace issues. During their stay in Hiroshima, students learned many of the basic facts of the atomic bombings through various activities including listening to an A-bomb survivor’s testimony, visiting the Peace Memorial Museum, and participating in a reading session of A-bomb experiences at the Hiroshima National Peace Memorial Hall for the Atomic Bomb Victims.
