Hiroshima Peace Study Field Trip of Universiti Sains Malaysia 2019
20 students and 2 staff members from Universiti Sains Malaysia were recently in Hiroshima for the university’s Peace Study Program, which is run in accordance with their Memorandum of Understanding with Hiroshima City University. This was the first trip since the program was recognized as a Hiroshima-Nagasaki Peace Study Course last year.
As part of this, on August 20, the group visited the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum and Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park to understand the realities of the A-bombing. While there, they listened to readings of accounts of the A-bombing, and the testimony of an A-bomb survivor, Ms. Keiko Ogura.
