The Mayor of Hiroshima delivers a speech in conjunction with "Hiroshima Logic" at Hiroshima City University（December 15, 2009）
On Tuesday, December 15, 2009, Mayor Akiba visited Hiroshima City University, where several subjects including "Hiroshima Logic" have been recognized as Hiroshima-Nagasaki Peace Study Courses. The mayor gave a lecture entitled "Lessons from Hiroshima - The Path to a Peaceful World, Free from Nuclear Weapons: The 21st Century-People Solving Their Own Problems", in front of about 300 students. In his speech, he introduced the reality of the atomic bombings and messages of A-bomb survivors, while stressing the significance of efforts by cities and citizens toward the abolition of nuclear weapons. He called for joint efforts saying, "together, we can achieve a nuclear-weapon-free world by 2020".
