The Mayor of Hiroshima delivers a lecture at Hiroshima Studies course in Hiroshima Shudo University
On April 18, 2008, Mayor Akiba of Hiroshima delivered a lecture at a course called "Hiroshima Studies: Study in Hiroshima, Study on Hiroshima" in the Faculty of Humanities and Human Sciences, Hiroshima Shudo University.
This course was newly established in April 2008 and recognized as a Hiroshima-Nagasaki Peace Study Course by the City of Hiroshima.
During his speech, Mayor Akiba stressed the importance of efforts made by young people in conveying the horrifying reality and experiences of the atomic bombings to future generations, and also explained the activities and efforts of the City of Hiroshima and Mayors for Peace toward the total abolition of nuclear weapons.
