Hiroshima Peace Study Field Trip of International Christian University 2024

On March 8th (Fri) and 9th (Sat), students from the International Christian University Rotary Peace Center visited Peace Memorial Park and learned about peace as the university's course “Hiroshima Seminar,” which is recognized as the Hiroshima-Nagasaki Peace Study Course.

On the first day of the seminar, the chairperson of the Hiroshima Peace Culture Foundation introduced the initiatives and exchanged opinions with the students, followed by a visit to the Peace Memorial Museum guided by the chairperson. On the second day, they listened to the testimony of an atomic bomb survivor and a lecture on peace, and toured Peace Memorial Park. During the tour, the students actively asked questions and exchanged opinions with the Youth Peace Volunteers, high school and university students who served as guides, which helped them deepen not only their understanding of the reality of the atomic bombing but also their interaction with the young generation of Hiroshima through conversation on the themes of peace and the atomic bombing.
