Hiroshima Field Trip of Carleton College 2019
18 student and 3 staff members visited Hiroshima as part of a study field trip on May 9 (Thu) and 11 (Sat), 2019. This trip is part of a ten week study abroad course which is associated with Doshisha University in Kyoto. Their trip to Hiroshima has been held annually since 2016 and this was the 4th field trip.
They visited the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum and Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park to understand the realities of the A-bombing. They also listened to the testimony of an A-bomb survivor, Ms. Keiko Ogura, and attended a lecture given by Prof. Jacobs from Hiroshima City University to deepen their understanding of peace from various perspectives.
