Hiroshima Peace Study Tour 2018, Carleton College
On April 18 (Wed) and 20 (Fri), a class from Carleton College (U.S) carried out its third Hiroshima Peace Study Tour. This program is part of a ten week study abroad course called Japanese Linguistics in Kyoto Seminar: History and Culture of Japan, which is associated with Doshisha University and has been held annually since 2016. There are 20 participants; 18 students, one professor and one assistant.
They visited the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum and other related facilities, were given a lecture by Prof. Jacobs from the Hiroshima Peace Institute of Hiroshima City University and listened to a testimony by Ms. Keiko Ogura, an A-bomb survivor, to understand the realities of A-bombing.
