Hiroshima Field Trip 2008, Ehime University

On Sunday, Novemeber 30, 2008, eight students from Ehime University participated in a field trip in Hiroshima.

This is part of their peace study course "Peace Design Forum" that was established this year. During the tour, students deepened their understanding of the need for peace and learned about the reality of war through their visits to war memorial sites in Hiroshima City and Ohkunojima Island in Takehara City, Hiroshima Prefecture.

In Hiroshima, the group visited the A-bomb dome and the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, listened to an A-bomb survivor's testimony and strengthened their knowledge about the atomic bombing.

In conclusion of the field study, the students offered paper cranes to the Children's Peace Monument.
