At the General Conference held on Sunday, August 5, the following matters were determined:

1.The Executive Cites were selected.
President Hiroshima (Japan)
Vice President Nagasaki (Japan)
Vice President Como (Italy)
Vice President Hannover (Germany)
Vice President Malakoff (France)
Vice President Manchester (Britain)
Vice President Muntinlupa (Philippines)
Vice President Volgograd (Russia)

2.Changing the name of the World Conference of Mayors for Peace through Inter-city Solidarity
From the basic desire to shorten the name and make it easier to remember, the organization name was changed to
"Mayors for Peace." It was also agreed to allow the addition of subtitles and greater freedom in translating the name to suit the political situation of each country.

3.Overall Action Plan

As an action policy for further strengthening activities of the Mayors for Peace, the Overall Action Plan was adopted.
Major Content:
> Develop member city program to establish Hiroshima -Nagasaki courses in colleges around the world.
> Develop ways for cities to utilize the ICJ opinion.
> Explore a better relationship between children and electronicmedia.
> Research a framework for protecting children from war.
> Construct networks that use the Internet.
> Secure sponsors.
