The 8th Executive Conference of Mayors for Peace held

1. OutlineMayors for Peace held the 8th Executive Conference in Granollers, Spain, discussed and decided future activities of Mayors for Peace and the 2013 General Conference in Hiroshima, as well as broadly exchanged opinions on future management policy of the organization. The General and Board of Directors Meeting of the 2020 Vision Campaign were also held and discussed future plan of the 2020 Vision Campaign. Aside from these, the Mayors for Peace representatives met with the representatives of the United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) that headquarters in Barcelona, Spain, and asked them for cooperation in the activities of Mayors for Peace. Furthermore, the mayors of Hiroshima and Nagasaki attend the opening ceremony for a permanent exhibition about the atomic bombings and disarmament in the United Nations Office at Geneva, Switzerland and each mayor gives a speech at a commemorative lecture to arouse international public opinions toward the abolition of nuclear weapons. 2. *The Awards Ceremony of the XXXII Prize for Peace that the United Nations Association of Spain gave to Mayors for Peace is held on November 9 at Diputacio de Barcelona. 3. Schedule
