President Akiba attended the 70th Anniversary of the Bombing of Gernika. He called for the solidarity of cities in the world and signed the "Gernika Declaration" which is a witten pledge directed toward the avoidance of attacks on cities and the realization of a peaceful world.

President Akiba attended the 7th World Summit of Novel Peace Laureates held in Rome/Itary and gave a speech at the opening session that was themed "Atoms for Peace or for War."
Conference at ICJ ICJ 10th Anniversary Commemorative Events

On the occasion of 10th anniversary of the ICJ advisory opinion stating "...the threat or use of nuclear weapons would generally be contrary to the rules of international raw", we organized mayoral delegation and participated in commemorative meetings held by European Peace NGOs.
