Who organizes the exhibition?
Municipalities, NGOs, non-profit organizations and educational institutions based in the host city are eligible to organize an exhibition. Hiroshima and Nagasaki cities will co-sponsor the exhibition.
What are the organizer’s responsibilities?
We ask the organizers to:
·arrange the exhibition venue, then set up and manage the exhibition, such as arrangement of showcases and exhibit boards for the photo panels, provision of security measures, etc;
·produce exhibit panels from digital data We will provide the data and cover the cost for the production.
※ For reasons such as production cost, etc., paneles may be produced in Japan and sent to the host city. (Cost for transportation of the panels will be borne by Hiroshima and Nagasaki);
·conduct publicity for the exhibition.
What are the co-sponsors' costs?
Hiroshima and Nagasaki will bear the costs of:
·transportation of A-bomb artifacts and video tapes;

·preparation of digital data and production of panels;
(tranportation of the panels when panels are produced in Japan)
· travel expenses and accommodations for representatives from Hiroshima and Nagasaki and an A-bomb witness.
How long is the exhibition?
Between two weeks to four weeks is the average.
How big should the exhibit venue?
The ideal size of the exhibition venue is 300m2 (=3,229ft2) or larger
How do the preparations proceed?

Organizer
Host Organizer
Hiroshima & Nagasaki
1.Indicates intention to host the exhibition with some idea of the exhibition site
2 Makes an official request to the organizer to host the exhibition(usually around January)
3 Discusses details of the preparation with staff sent from Hiroshima and Nagasaki 4.Sends staff to the host organizer to discuss details of the preparation with the organizer
5 Conducts PR for the exhibition
7.Produces photo panels from the digital data provided by Hiroshima and Nagasaki or receives the photo panels sent by Hiroshima and Nagasaki 6.Sends digital data to commission panel production to the organizer or produces panels in Japan and sends them to the host city
8.Ships the exhibit artifacts to the host city
9.Receives and stores the artifacts in a secured place
10.Delivers the panels and artifacts to the exhibit venue and display them
11.Prepares for the opening ceremony and arranges dates and venues for the A-bomb survivor's testimony
12.Sends A-bomb survivor and city representatives to the host city to participate in the opening
*Consideration of an exhibit site and period can take six months to one year after the organizer indicates the intention to host the exhibition. The city governments in Hiroshima and Nagasaki have to build their project plans on annual basis, which must be approved by the City Councils before implementation. We hope you will understand that we might not be able to comply, as a result of schedule adjustment, with your preference as to the opening of the exhibition.
What if we want to host the exhibition but are unable to bear the costs or secure a venue?
Hiroshima and Nagasaki loan a set of 30 posters depicting the atomic bombings for peace promotion activities organized by relatively small organizations and peace studies in schools. Available languages are English, French, Russian, Spanish, German, Italian, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese. Videos used for the Hiroshima Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Exhibition are also available for loan. The rental is free, but the return postage should be borne by the applicant.
